March meeting: converting our studies in to papers!
We are delighted to invite you to our next meeting at 6.30pm on Monday 6th March.
Agenda for the meeting:
1) New study proposal:
Matteo Gregori and Shazad Ashraf will present a new study idea based around low pressure laparoscopy technology for colectomy.
2) Converting our studies in to papers:
We are weeks away from the start of data collection for the Right Iliac Fossa Treatment audit (RIFT). Already >180 UK/Irish centres and >65 Italian centres have registered to participate – a fantastic achievement!
In order to ensure that we efficiently convert this high quality, international, prospective audit in to papers for our collaborators, we would like to start planning our analyses and papers on Monday. We anticipate that RIFT will result in several high quality papers. We will split in to groups to define specific study questions that we can address using the RIFT dataset and then sketch out how we will answer them. We anticipate a number of experienced researchers to be present, so don’t hesitate to come along if you have never done anything like this before! This is a great opportunity to get involved and learn about large dataset analysis.
In addition, there’s still time to get involved in data collection for RIFT – please simply get in touch with Saleem, the West Midlands regional rep for RIFT! (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Free parking in the University car park on Pritchatts Road.
We look forward to seeing you on the 6th!
